Job’s Daughters, Bethel #337

On July 20th, I had the pleasure of attending a Bingo event hosted by multiple Bethels at the Anaheim Demolay Center, and there is no doubt in my mind, *our* young ladies made their BINGO marks all night long. After enjoying a meal, laughing, watching them paint each other with “hidden Mickeys” and getting to know some of the Daughters, I was given the treat to be their Mr. Bingo, call out the bingo numbers and pick the type of games played. It was a genuinely fun experience, and on July 19th, 2013, I and Natalie Bolton of Bethel 337 will be working together at their next bingo event. So mark your calendars now! We’re going to have a great time.

On July 28th our Bethel embarked on one of their traditional Beach party and movie nights at The Dunes. After talking with a few of the young ladies, we can be assured that they look forward to this event every year and appreciate the opportunity to get together and enjoy some time doing what “friends do when they get together.”

Rainbow for Girls, Assembly #86

Imagine sleeping peacefully in your bed. It’s quiet, and you’re pleasantly dreaming away the night — when all of a sudden you are yanked out of your slumber, pulled from your soothingly warm cocoon of blankets and thrust into a car with all your advisors and sisters. Well, that’s what happened to our Rainbow Girls this last month after some of the advisory board members hosted a Breakfast Kidnapping at Flakey Jakes for our members of Assembly #86. When I asked the young ladies about the breakfast, an ear to ear smile comes across their faces and stories of good times ensue. Congratulations on such a successful event! Continue reading

DeMolay, Orange Chapter

On July 22nd, the young men of our chapter hosted a Beach Party at Huntington Beach. The young men and ladies played volleyball, hurled Frisbees, splashed in the ocean, played football, laid out in the sun, and had a true “family oriented summer beach party” experience.  As the sun started to dip in the sky and the afternoon ocean wind picked up, the warmth of the fire pit became the focal point. They cooked hot dogs, roasted marshmallows and made some of the best S’mores I have ever seen!  It takes a youth member to teach us that four marshmallows on a s’mores sandwich is way better than just one.  Who knew!?  We closed the night out huddling around a roaring beach pit fire with lots of laughter, chortling and an all-around good time.

Orange DeMolay Sweetheart Brittany Curtis and Princess Taylor Cloud will be hosting an Ice Cream Social on Friday August 17th to help support their trip to Conclave – The cost is $5.00 and the event starts at 7pm.

Well, as usual, there is always too much to report in our newsletter about our youth members. So, come on down, visit our youth by attending one of their regularly scheduled meetings or one of their activities.
